Compost service

Sign up online!

We are excited about compost. In addition to enriching soil, composting reroutes tons of food that would otherwise burden our overflowing landfills. So, Pedal People has begun a pilot composting program. We are encouraging all customers who do not already compost at home to join us in this effort. We will collect your kitchen scraps with the same regularity as recycling and trash.

To begin, simply find a container with a lid. Its size will depend on the amount of food scraps your household produces. The container could come in any number of forms: 5 gallon bucket, 1 gallon ice cream tub, kitty litter bucket, yogurt container, etc. We will also provide one if requested.

Of course, we would be thrilled if you started composting in your backyard. We can help you with the design and construction of the bins as well as tips on maintenance. You can cover your kitchen scraps with your yard waste, which will deter pests and create healthy soil.

For information on what qualifies as compost, see our FAQ and our compost flyer (171K).

Call or e-mail us with any questions.
